Concave Town Afterparty
With the whitelist behind us, the team wanted to have a nice afterparty where we could interact with the miners who stuck with us for the past few months. We decided to host this afterparty on the Concave Town Gather Project and decided to host a Karaoke Night there as well. Not only could you hang out and sing Karaoke on a stage with others, you could also play arcade games, poker, and just have fun with others in our metaverse. It truly added a lot to the experience, and we are thankful to everyone who made that night special. We will be adding more events on to Concave Town soon so please look forward to that!
MoMB Collab Event Feb. 15-19
One exciting collab that we will be having this week is our collaboration event with the Museum of Modern Borpas. The Museum of Modern Borpa is an exquisite CC0 digital exhibition celebrating the intersection of memes and art history. The team has been fans of them since the beginning, and we are excited to be having this event with them. One major part of the event is the NFT museum that we talked about last week. In the NFT museum in Concave Town, you will be able to see some of MoMB's amazing collections, such as the Borpis and the Borpacassos. MoMB also has a new collection that will be coming out soon so please look forward to that. There will be more information coming for the event very soon so please stay tuned!
Team Interview with Kromie
A strong community needs a strong team, and the Concave team has been busy at work getting Concave to be a powerhouse in the DeFi space. We wanted to drop by and have a short interview with Kromie, one of our partnership commanders for C0ncave.
What is your background?
I am a parent of three children and have worked every type of job possible: from retail sales to construction, to tech support to corporate office management. I still manage a retail chain of shoe stores today, that my family started over ten years ago.
How did you learn about Concave?
My journey into crypto started with me buying the top in March 2021 of everyone’s favorite meme coins on Binance Smart Chain. I transitioned to Defi yield farming on Matic, which lead me to discovering Olympus in August. After consolidating my position into Ohm, I started to get to know certain names and faces in the community (Asfi, Brian, Typhoeus, Tigerlily, and so many more). These folks lead me to Klima right at launch, and then Rome right before. It was in a small house of Rome - House of Tiger – where I first got wind of this mysterious, “new protocol that was going to be the next big thing.” It was right after Rome had launched, and Tigerlily was already talking about Concave. Like you, the Ape in me took over wanting to get in on that whitelist….I immediately took to Twitter to find out more. It took almost 2 days of trying to get an active link for me to get in. Once I did, the rest, as they say, is history.
What are your personal hobbies?
I love to beatbox, play video games, and I ESPECIALLY love to play board games with my family. Jump boots for exercise, and anime makes up my tv watching. I also consider personal development a hobby. As a life-long learner, I love listening to podcasts and reading books that challenge me to do and be better.
How do you envision Concave in the future?
Have you ever wondered what a corporation like Amazon would look like if it was actually run by its employees, and if the people at the top of the corporate structure actually cared about its users? That the bosses knew how to talk to people, and have fun? That is Concave. In a collaborative way, we will serve everyone. There is no limitation to the types of products Concave could produce. The most exciting part is that the Community is behind everything that we create, and when projects are complete the profits and rewards will go right back to those who helped and those who participate. What this future will look like, is anyone’s guess. I just know that the Community’s interests will always remain at the heart of Concave’s mission.
What is a goal that you would like to achieve?
I want to see non-English speaking community members take positions of leadership within Concave. Part of the Echo mission is to facilitate fast communication across this language barrier, which I believe is one of the biggest hurdles DeFi faces. How can we grow to serve everyone in the world, if we can’t first solve the problem of how we speak to each other? By having people of all cultures and backgrounds integrated into our core leadership structure, I believe we can create the strongest international cooperative community the world has ever seen.
Concave World Updates
One location that is currently in the works for Concave World is the Education Hub, an area that will be used to house all of our education efforts in the future. Imagine a metaverse destination with live teachers who offer workshops to miners in Concave Town. This is what we are envisioning for our Education Hub in the future. The Education Hub is currently being built; we look forward to seeing everyone learn here soon!
Gather NFT Museum
If you have spent a good amount of time in Concave, you probably know that we are looking to push Gather Town to new heights by creating Concave World, a metaverse hub where you can have fun with your fellow miners and interact in ways that you never thought of before. One aspect of Concave Town that is currently in the works is a Gather NFT Museum, a place where you can look at various NFT projects that are partnered with Concave. All of these projects will be displayed in our own museum, free to enjoy straight through Gather. It will be coming soon so please look forward to it!
Among Us Event
With one of our new Concave event coordinators, Kittendropz, we have started to host regular Sunday gaming events as well as Watch Party Wednesdays. For our gaming event last week, the community had some great fun playing Among Us on stream. The event was a nice and chill time as miners tried to see who they could and couldn't trust. If you are interested in joining one of these events, there will be a Jackbox gaming event that you will be able to participate in next Sunday. We hope you are able to join us for some great fun!
Miner of the Week
This week’s Miner of the Week goes to Point Rat, a pivotal member for the community who has done great work as a Vibe curator for Concave. We wanted to stop by and learn more about Point Rat and what he does with the Concave community.
Point Rat has been investing in and following crypto since 2017. Something about the energy behind everything going on in the crypto world really grabbed him. Aside from crypto, Point Rat have been a bit of a wanderer in his life. He moved to the other side of the world when he was 19 and never managed to make it back.
For Point Rat's hobbies, he loves to read and would probably say his favourite series is The Books of Babel by Josiah Bancroft. Apart from this, he loves to listen to music and enjoy watching UFC and getting nerdy about it online. There is no typical day for him in Concave and that's why he love it. He feels like Concave is a place where he can run with any ideas he might have and everyone who he encounters is willing to give it a shot and help out. At the moment, Point Rat is trying his hand at building an experience for the Concave Town Seismology Lab, so keep an eye out for that in the future!
Numbers at a Glance
With the release of the aToken, we want to share some quick stats that we are seeing with our new Dune Dashboard. Here are some information that you might find interesting here.
Meme of the Week
We have some amazing meme creators in our community, and they have been putting in their passion and creativity to create memes that miners can enjoy. One meme that made us chuckle was this Iceberg meme that talks about what we know so far about Concave and how much we still don't know. The rabbit cave runs deep, and this meme really mirrors how many of us feel about the potential of Concave.
That’s all for this week miners — we hope you enjoyed this week’s issue of the Concave Echo and look forward to bringing you the next one.
