Community Team AMA

After the insane turnout with last week's Concave Genesis AMA, we wanted to tone it down a little and have a Community Team AMA where we introduce the Community team, our initiatives, as well as go through some of the questions that miners had after last week's event. In the AMA, the community was able to learn about the Community Team, talk with Voke about the project and core philosophy, and embody WAGMI vibes together with Bike4peace. The event was a really fun time, and we are glad that we were able to share this moment with the Concave community.

House of Spoons

Originally starting as a community idea, the original quest to create a house in Rome DAO has become a full blown initiative to establish the House of Spoons. The House of Spoons is seeking to establish a base of operations to take their place among the great Houses at the start of the Second War Campaign. This is not a simple feat, as we need 2% of the total ROME supply in order to start a house. However, with the strength of our community, we know that we can have that amount pledged and become trailblazers that establish new partnerships and connections with projects aligned with our own. You can read through the full proposal here.

Olympus Off-Topic Raid

On January 14th, the Olympus Discord announced that it would be having a 9PM EST chillout session in their off-topic channel. After seeing the news, we decided to have a little fun with the Olympus community by having our community raid their off-topic channel and have some fun in the name of WAGMI. The raid was a success, and the Concave community had a great time bonding with the Olympus community with copypasta, memes, and fun conversation all around. Thanks to every miner who was able to show up to the raid. It was a memorable moment, and we would definitely like to host more raids in the future.

Team Interview with Big Supe

A strong community needs a strong core, and the mining core has been busy at work getting Concave to be a powerhouse in the DeFi space. We wanted to drop by and have a short interview with Big Supe, one of the core miners for Concave.

What is your background?

Hey everyone! Waiting patiently for newcomers at the entrance of the cave, your humble guide through the Concave, Big Supe small flute here as Head of Pepe Team Management. My background is in Property Management with some Options trading on the side. I spent several years managing buildings, contracts and people which eventually took me down my path here at Concave. What was once unifying Board Members with contractors has now evolved into linking the sharpest minds in DeFi with the beautiful brains in the cave. I took pride in making sure all of my previous Board Members and other Community Managers had everything they needed to be equipped with the tasks at hand.

How did you learn about Concave?

I learned about Concave through Jman. I have followed the path of the Jman for a few years now and have grown a friendship with the man himself. Jman and company have always expressed strong WAGMI vibes which I naturally gravitated towards. It began with OHM; that is where I saw the true potential of crypto and the people inside it. As we all know now, this blossomed into what Concave is, and the feelings were even greater. My Community Manager background was an organic transition into Head of Pepe Team Management, making sure all members, particularly new ones, are properly synced with their Commanders to ensure we are moving forward at all times.

What are your personal hobbies?

My personal hobbies include video games and racing cars. I've always been fascinated where a video game can take you and I've been playing ever since I could remember. I'm a huge fan of RPGs and 1st Person Shooters. As for my race career (if you want to call it that), I currently drive a WRX and Autocross my car at my local track. This hobby requires a lot of patience and work if you plan on being competitive. After months of wrenching on the car and configuring it exactly how I like, I became the 2021 Champion of my class! I would like to start traveling to different tracks for self improvement and of course, have fun. I'm an adrenaline junkie at heart so I love rollercoasters, all things fast and I've been skydiving!

How do you envision Concave in the future?

I believe Concave to me is truly shaping how we create future businesses and how we view Crypto, particularly DeFi, going forward. I like to imagine a world where Concave has successfully launched and we've been flourishing in the space for years. We are the forerunners of this ecosystem and we've changed the game with our innovations.

What is a goal that you would like to achieve?

A personal goal for me is to be financially free, doing something I love where work is no longer "work." I'd like to find true success and happiness with my family and friends, together. I'd like to truly live the way of the WAGMI and show others the path to success and happiness.

Concave P-Token Primer

Our Alpha Santa Miaoshi has dropped another article filled to the brim with more information about the pToken model for the project. In the article, Miaoshi talks about what pTokens are, potential vesting schedules, and more.

On a subtle level, your unredeemed pConcave will grow at the same rate of the circulating supply growth, which means it is 100% dilution protected thus a better version of gConcave (staked Concave Native Token).

For the vesting schedule, the Policy team made a few changes and implemented a  cliff for pTokens distributed. The cliff shows just how dedicated our work team members are and how the team is in this for the long term.

The goal of this cliff is to ensure every member of the work team (especially core team and early contributors) won't just get their pConcave allocation and disappear or lay down on the floor. We want the work team to stay focused and motivated, especially during the first few months which is critical to the success of the project.

If you are looking for more technical information about these topics, look no further. You don't want to miss out.

Note: There are some changes that are going to be made with the pToken Primer to reflect updates made to the vesting schedule. Please look forward to that soon.

Concave pToken Model Primer (reworking pending)
Goal: A detailed primer for Community, Investors, and Team who will soon in the future be receiving pConcave to understand (1) essence of what pConcave really is and (2) how and why we are constructing our vesting model in order to maximize all the stakeholders’ value and Concave’s long

Miner of the Week

This week’s Miner of the Week goes to Shaz, a pivotal member for the community who has done great work as an overseer and organizer for the Concave. We wanted to stop by and learn more about Shaz and what he does with the Concave community.

Shaz is 27 years old and has been serving in the British army for 9 years now. He travels all around the world to places like Kenya, Falkland islands, Belize in the jungles, and more. He has done multiple birthday parades for her majesty Queen Elizabeth & had the honor to have met the belated Prince Philips. Shaz has studied finance and accounting for University and currently holds a degree for them. He is also a part-time Physical instructor and nutritionist. His hobbies are Boxing, been doing it since 18 and did it for the army for 2 years.

Ski-ing he has done a few races, including Downhill, slalom and SUPER GS, and his last hobby is sleeping. Whenever he can, he always try to get his head down for some sleep. Shaz grew up on South park and Runescape; this was one of the main reasons he got into finance and accounting, When you are in the GE spamming and merching items, these are some things you just simply learn. As for a day in Concave, it has been pretty hectic with all the work he has suddenly received, He can't even tell you what time zone he is in anymore. Shaz either wake ups in the evening or early morning, grabs his coffee, and gets to work.

First, he checks how our lovely inspectors and operators are doing being a part of the overseer team we have to always be on our toes on checking everything our lovely community is up to, got to raise that daily moral. Second, he check on our lovely mediation teams efforts and help out with the reports, tickets and bug reports. Lastly, Shaz love dwelling into the caves, taking part in any event we possible have to offer, i.e Karaoke night and just simply solving issues we all have dramas with. this brings him pride and joy not only for himself but for all of us as one. If you know Shaz, he always link all our POW with "one for all and all for one." WAGMI.

Other Community Contributions

The Community Contribution section is a place where we celebrate some of the amazing work of our mining community. Here are some of the brilliant projects that our community has created this past week.

Sounds of the Cave

If you venture far enough into the Concave mines, you may chance upon a group of seismologists tinkering away on some lovely sounds. In case you didn’t already know, when you acquire the role of Seismologist this grants you the power to take part in the curation of the music played in the music channels. So far the community has collectively curated seven playlists which can be found here.

As the music genres have started to get wildly eclectic, the community voted to split the cave stadium into two channels. Cave stadium provides chill background beats to help you while you work in the mines, while Rave stadium is there for when you knock off work and want to dance to the community curated playlists.

In addition to our curated playlists, Concave has started its very own record label. We are currently collecting submissions in the #Concaverecords channel for our very first mixtape, so if you are a music maker of any kind, please come and show us what you’re made of! -Point Rat

The Pets of Concave

In our Community Hub, we have various channels for various topics from anime to cars. One channel that we like to look at from time to time is the Pets channel, where our miners share pictures of their pets to other miners and discuss about pet related topics. The owner of this precious Doggo Isai (PPP), a community miner who spends a lot of time helping out other miners and engages in genuine dialogue.

That’s all for this week miners — we hope you enjoyed this week’s issue of the Concave Lens and look forward to bringing you the next one.
