DeFi Summer? Uniswap passes Ethereum in fees

The decentralized exchange Uniswap has surpassed its host blockchain Ethereum in fees paid over a 7 day period. This may be caused by a high demand of DeFi projects during these bear times and the fees almost crossed the 5 million USD over a 7 day average.

Meta set to begin testing NFTs on Instagram Stories with Spark AR

Meta, owner of Instagram, announced that they will be testing on implementing NFTs on Instagram stories via their Spark AR platform. Currently they are expanding the testing on some creators around the world to test through the feature.

“We'll bring this feature to Facebook soon too -- starting with a small group of US creators -- so people can cross-post on Instagram and Facebook. We’ll also test NFTs in Instagram Stories with SparkAR soon.” - Mark Zuckerberg

Looking Towards PEEPO 1.0

Ever since the start of PEEPO, our team has been making great strides on improving PEEPO and bringing more incentives for community members to participate and earn rewards in the process. With PEEPO 1.0, the team has been working hard on expanding the functionality of PEEPO while building up PEEPO to be as modular as possible. It has been impressive to see what our team members can do, and we look forward to sharing with you more news about this soon. You can read more details about PEEPO updates here.

Team Member Interview with Redneck Engineer

What is your background?

I’m in my mid 40s.  Got a little family and have been moderately successful in the crypto space.  I am a very early entrant to crypto and sadly didn’t really know what to do with it for years but knew it was important. I mined BTC in early 2011 on my CPU and then on my video card with my gaming rig while I was at work. I remember that I averaged $11 in electricity to generate a couple bitcoin from the MtRed team (Mining Team Reddit). These were the days where you had to type commands into a Linux box to get your miner started and also to interact with your wallet.  I was actually trying to find a Linux driver for my WIFI dongle and ended up in a forum where people were talking about how their miner would crash when running over that WIFI dongle. I never got the WIFI working and instead had an Ethernet cable duct-taped to my kitchen floor for a year to power my bitcoin miner. My wife was not impressed and didn’t think much of that Satoshi guy.

How did you learn about Concave?
I saw Concave on Twitter first then started doing some searches. I ended up in the Discord in early January trying to figure out what the roles were all about. (muh Genesis role lol) I was pretty surprised that there was so much activity and I liked most of the people I talked to. I had a ton of free time since I had exited most of my positions after a year of staring at charts 16 hours a day. I figured I would try to find a new, small project to help out with where I could. Boy did I hit a home run with that!  I ended up white-listing in with Genesis and Angel. :) boy, those were the days.

What are your personal hobbies?

I like to build stuff. Simple as that. I am not much of a consumer and would rather pay 3x the money to build something myself than to buy it from someone who knows what they are doing. I am never afraid to fail and I never fear criticism. I have seen the bottom. Lived it for quite a while and I know how to do it well. The “Builders Cooperative” idea behind Concave really sat well with me. Everyone was kinda crazy and having fun. There was meat on the bone though with the structure behind their plan. It really was a fascinating thing they were building. I really wanted to be a part of it.
